International Cricket return to Pakistan after Sri Lanka agrees

It has been so long since the audience in Pakistan has witnessed an international cricket game at the home ground. Today is the day to cherish, relinquish and enjoy as once again International Cricket is coming home. Pakistan has been kept away from hosting any international game of cricket for so long which made cricket fans so thirsty and hungry.

International Cricket is Coming home

Eight straight years, no team visited Pakistan to play international cricket, Eight long years. International cricket is coming home finally as the brave Lankan lions are stepping up to help Pakistan revive international cricket at the home ground. Sri Lankan cricket board has successfully approved the tour of 3 T-20I’s to be played in Pakistan.

Thilanga Sumathipala, chief to Sri Lanka cricket has said in a statement that the “team” is cleared to play the series in Pakistan. Amongst three of T-20I’s, Gaddafi Stadium Lahore may host one game. Besides, this tour still has to receive official permission of the government.

Sri Lankan chief was quoted saying as Sri Lankan security experts have visited Pakistan in recent times and in detail made their assessments. Through their assessments, the board feels pleasure to announce that atmosphere look pleasant for cricket in Pakistan, especially in Lahore. The security paterns and procedures have been successfully improved and Pakistan is once again favorable place to play international games.

Cricket family will be very delighted and pleased to hear that international cricket is coming home after a long drought. International cricket community and the leading nations of cricket abandoned Pakistani grounds after 2009 militant attack on Sri Lankan team. Seven players were injured sadly in that attack. Since then, Zimbabwe is the only team to play Pakistan at their home ground. Zimbabwe and Pakistan contested in 5-ODIs.

One more moment in which international players came to Pakistan to play was PSL 2017 final in Lahore. The event was a master success with all but final played in Lahore. Both the events were provided with fool proof full protocol security.
